Chappell Roan Plays FMK With Lesbian Stereotypes on ‘Gaydar’

The singer also shared her dating dealbreakers: “Long nails is a cop out,” Roan said. (But hey, we just want to point out that doing it with acrylics is a time-honored femme dyke tradition.) Roan also said she gets “freaked out by a shaved under there,” and that she gets “nervous” about “people being friends with their exes.” That last one isn’t a dealbreaker, though — because then she’d effectively cut off 40% of the queer community from her dating pool — as much as it is something she’d just like to talk about. Lastly, Roan said, “I just really need you to floss,” and whether or not you’re trying to date the pop star, that’s tea.

Elsewhere in the interview, Anania also asked Roan if she knew what a service top was and if she identified as one. “I didn’t know what a service top was until last week, but everyone thinks I know,” she responded. “Bitch, I don’t know what a service top is. I just have sex that feels good.” Hate to say it, but that’s a service top thing to say if ever we’ve heard one. Las Culturistas wouldn’t have asked her about service topping earlier this week if it wasn’t! Also, we’re simply going to double down on our assertion that “The Giver” is the country-pop service top anthem the world needed.

In addition to sex advice (“have sex that feels good”), Roan also offered up some relationship wisdom. When asked by Anania what tips she’d give to a friend going through her first lesbian breakup, she responded, “Don’t try to be friends. It’s going to take a long time, just don’t be friends.” Some of you are not going to love to hear that, but truer words have never been spoken.
