Cory Hardrict reveals if he’s open to dating and shares an update about coparenting during an exclusive interview with Life & Style.
While promoting his new movie Die Like a Man, Cory, 45, admits that dating is not his top priority at the moment.
“I got a lot of goals to accomplish and I got these babies,” he says. “Right now I’m just enjoying my life, getting to know who I am all over again. And that’s tough. But I’m doing that and just getting my mental health together and just my peace of mind first. And we will see what happens.”
Cory says he’s “not searching” or actively “looking for anything,” but he’s open if he’s open to meeting someone new. “But if it comes my way and you feel that’s what it is, and then that’s a conversation. But right now, I’m single,” he continues. “I’m not there. I’m nowhere near there. But yeah, life is great. Everything is great right now.”
The Chicago native is single following his divorce from ex-wife Tia Mowry, whom he was married to from 2008 until 2023. The former couple share kids Cree, 13, and Cairo, 6.
While Cory and Tia, 46, are no longer together, they remain in each other’s lives as they coparent their kids. “It’s all love. Don’t believe the internet, the internet be out here lying,” Cory tells Life & Style about his current coparenting dynamic with Tia.
When it comes to coparenting advice, Cory says that exes should “not to make it about yourself.”
“Remove yourself out of it and coparent with love. Move with peace. And like I say, if you remove yourself out of it, think about your children and just think about how can we get along. Because that’s better for the whole family,” he continues. “You’re still a family, even though if you’re not together anymore, you’re still a family and your kids need the parents healthy, good relationship to keep them thriving and to keep the kids happy.”

He adds, “You don’t want to have all that dysfunction. And that’s what we do. And we’re still a family, and it’s all love over here.”
In addition to talking about his dating life and coparenting, Cory also teases his new movie Die Like a Man, which will be available on Digital + On Demand April 25. The film follows teenager Freddy (Miguel Angel Garcia), who is desperate to become a man by proving his worth to a local gang.
In addition to starring in the film, Cory also serves as an executive producer on the project. Despite balancing two jobs for the film, Cory tells Life & Style it was “pretty easy” to shift gears between acting and producing.
“I wasn’t as hands-on producing, but I had producing credit,” he says. “I was also taking in how things [were run] from the other producers, my filmmaker and just kind of soaking in it all the information so I can continue to grow and build in my company.”
When he wasn’t in producer mode, Cory says he “would just do the character and focus on the character” and try to make him the “most authentic as possible.”
