VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) – February marked Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and local organizations are continuing efforts to raise awareness with a “Stomping Out Teen Dating Violence” rally at Washington Street Park, 1000 Washington St., on Saturday, March 22, from noon to 3 p.m.
The event is organized by the Beverly Prentiss Domestic Violence Victim Empowerment Program committee in collaboration with Triple R Ryders. Organizers encourage attendees to wear brimmed hats and boots as a symbolic statement of stomping out against teen dating violence.
The rally will feature interactive activities, guest speakers, resources from partner organizations, live music, and food vendors. Sponsors include the City of Vicksburg, Haven House Family Shelter, the Mississippi CASA Program, and the Vicksburg-Warren Youth Development Center.
